Chance the Rapper is a busy man these days; in addition to touring and hosting his own music festival, the&nbsp;Coloring Book&nbsp;rapper is also working with Kanye West on his long rumored&nbsp;Good Ass Job&nbsp;album. In an interview with a Los Angeles&#39; Power 106FM today, Chance detailed his work with West.

&quot;The&nbsp;Good Ass Job, that&rsquo;s something that&rsquo;s just been a dream for me,&quot; Chance told the Power 106 crew. &quot;I&rsquo;m a Chicago kid, so I&rsquo;m a super &#39;Ye fan, and I used to watch all the YouTube videos and him speaking. And I remember just watching a video a long time ago where he would go on, he was explaining, you know, how you have your&nbsp;College Dropout, and then you go back you have your&nbsp;Late Registration, and then you finally get your&nbsp;Graduation. And after you graduate, you gotta go get a&nbsp;Good Ass Job, so that was a thing in my head forever,&quot; Chance said.

Kanye&#39;s&nbsp;Good Ass Job&nbsp;was intended to be the follow-up to college themed trilogy of Kanye&#39;s first three albums, but the long awaited project was seemingly put on West&#39;s back burner while the rapper explored other projects, such as the synth heavy&nbsp;808&#39;s And Heartbreaks. Chance admitted that the album was still &quot;far from done,&quot; but revealed that two tracks have now been completed on&nbsp;Good Ass Job.&nbsp;&quot;We definitely have at least two songs I could say I know would be on&nbsp;Good Ass Job, but to be you know, back in the bunker and be at the spot and have that time to just sit and make stuff everyday is my dream,&quot; Chance said.

The Manorail -- a NYC emcee trio with a love for music and a boom bap-influenced style inspired by New York in the 90&#39;s -- have released their new single, &quot;Habitat,&quot; which features bars by hip hop icons Punchline and Brand Nubian&#39;s Sadat X.

The Manorail is comprised of three emcees from New York City -- Shish, Atrane, and Sed -- who manage to perfectly epitomize the boom bap subgenre of hip hop with their new single, &quot;Habitat.&quot; Best known for scoring the long running hip hop theater production &quot;Platanos and Collard Greens,&quot; The Manorail have now teamed up the Loyalty Digital Corp label to release their extensive back catalog of material (as well as some brand new, original tracks, such as &quot;Habitat,) to a wider audience.

It&#39;s no accident that the track features Sadat X, as the song&#39;s smooth, jazzy style makes it feel like a direct successor to the Brand Nubian artist&#39;s first solo release, 1996&#39;s&nbsp;Wild Cowboys. The track also features a verse from fellow 90&#39;s hip hop veteran Punchline.

Manorail bring boom bap back with Sadat X, Punchline

In the 70 though the 90&rsquo;s, Hip-hop gained massive recognition as an underground movement rallying thousands against societal issues through means of ground-shaking beats and cutting-edge rhymes. In modern times, many have critiqued it under commercial persuasion to the point of &ldquo;losing its agenda&rdquo;.

There are, however, a remarkable few who have remained within the movement, and there stands no artist as radical as Monsta Kodi.

Born in Harlem, raised in the Bronx, Monsta Kodi ranked prominence with his distinct activist-induced artistry, much significantly through his hit-single &ldquo;No More Killin&rdquo;, a song tracing its roots off the tragic Mike Brown shooting gunned by Ferguson, Missouri police forces.

Since then, the young rapper took frequent commutes to Ferguson, New York, and Baltimore to actively voice against police brutality. In his journeys, Kodi collaborated with numerous politically-active groups including a Beatnik-based poetry group, Loss Voices.

Monsta Kodi&rsquo;s much-anticipated documentary&nbsp;No More Killing, takes the issue of police brutality under an unfiltered lens, perhaps the first to do so. The young rapper seeks to rally the generations into an organic realization of how the issue at hand affects society. Kodi, being familiar to the issue since childhood aspires to be &ldquo;the voice for those who can&rsquo;t speak, the eyes for those who don&rsquo;t see hurt and pain, caused by the people who were sworn to protect us&rdquo;.

On the other hand, Monsta Kodi provides an accurate embodiment of &ldquo;musician by day, vigilante by night&rdquo;. When he&rsquo;s not on streets voicing against inequality, he&rsquo;s in the studios synthesizing magnum opus woven with his political views&mdash;the classic Hip hop movement.

Teaming up with DJ Montana and DJ Tiny Tunes, Strictly Kong Entertainment has released the debut mixtapes featuring Monsta Kodi omnipresent in both music and activism, many of which can be streamed via Soundcloud and ReverbNation.

Atlanta rapper Shawty Lo, a.k.a. Carlos Walker, lost his life tragically last night at the age of 40 after a devastating hit and run car accident early this morning.

Shawty Lo was best known as one of the founding members of hip hop group DL4, who scored a number one hit with their 2005 single &quot;Laffy Taffy.&quot; &nbsp; In addition to his work with DL4, Shawty Lo scored a solo gold-selling single with &quot;Dey Know.&quot; In 2008, he was named &quot;Rookie of the Year&quot; at the BET Hip Hop Awards. He appeared on the Billboard charts again with Gucci Mane and Soulja Boy in 2009 on the hit single &quot;Gucci Bandanna.&quot; His second solo album, entitled&nbsp;Still Got Units, was scheduled to come out sometime later this year.&nbsp;

Shawty was killed in a hit and run accident on Atlanta&#39;s Interstate 285 in the early hours of the morning. Lo was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, while two passengers who were with him suffered non- life threatening injuries. The Atlanta police department has yet to release details about the vehicle that caused and fled the scene of the accident.

Apollo Brown & Skyzoo Drop Latest “Basquiat On The Draw”

It&rsquo;s that time of week again, folks&mdash;throwback radio! Today we dive back in 1994 when Bad Boy Records introduced Craig Mack&rsquo;s debut album,&nbsp;Project: Funk Da World!

The record provided the second release under Puff Daddy&rsquo;s Bad Boy Records, following The Notorious B.I.G.&rsquo;s massively-acclaimed classic,&nbsp;Ready To Die. Because of this, Mack&rsquo;s lay overshadowed by the success of Biggie&rsquo;s earlier release.

Despite this, Craig Mack proved a formidable reputation as a Hip-hop artist. His debut album achieved RIAA-certified gold, following the premier of his ground-shaking hit single, &ldquo;Flava in Ya Ear&rdquo; which released earlier that year.

Funk Da World&rsquo;s second single, &ldquo;Get Down&rdquo;, accomplished Mack&rsquo;s second Top 40 appearance in 1994. The single would eventually attain certified Gold in 1995.

Though Mack&rsquo;s debut lay under the canvas of Biggie&rsquo;s album, it would be a crude mistake to dismiss Funk Da World&nbsp;altogether. The album features smooth beats, perfect for cruising down the civics, or just kicking the feet up and chilling.

More significantly, Mack&rsquo;s rhymes seem to have transcended through time, perhaps proving greater relevance in the context of present-day. Furthermore, Mack was among the earliest artists boldly blending their faith into the Hip-hop mix. This is signified in the album&rsquo;s single, &ldquo;When God Comes&rdquo;:

&ldquo;I&rsquo;m on a mission from the kingdom of God/ To do away with MC&rsquo;s dat represent nimrod&hellip; And radio ya need to be ashamed/ For pumping murder, murder, murder all up in our brain/ I&rsquo;ll tell ya now Big Poppa don&rsquo;t like it/ Representing truth when the Mack starts to mic it/ I hope the subject don&rsquo;t turn ya away/ But the whole Hip-hop generation need to pray&rdquo;.

Overall,&nbsp;Project: Funk Da World!&nbsp;Craig Mack present the perfect throwback playlist. Not only does it provide a step back into laid back, refreshing rhythms, but it also projects content very significant for the issues bogging the nations today. It&rsquo;s the Hip-hop movement, all over again.
