Guns 'N Roses are going on an international tour—and taking Public Enemy with them. On Monday (December 9), Flavor Flav shared an Instagram post announcing the news. He wrote in the caption, "FLAVOR FLAV: WE ARE GOING ON TOUR WITH GUNS N’ ROSES!!! Guns N’ freaking Roses."
Produced by Live Nation, the 24-date trek begins next May in Saudi Arabia and ends on July 31 in Germany. Other special guests include the remaining members of the Sex Pistols and Rival Sons. No U.S. dates have been announced—at least not yet.
Public Enemy—comprised primarily of Chuck D and Flavor Flav—has weathered several storms over the years. In 2020, Flavor Flav was dismissed from the group, shortly before Chuck D and his Public Enemy Radio brethren hit the stage at the Bernie Sanders rally in Los Angeles. P.E. issued a statement explaining what led to split at the time.
“Public Enemy did not part ways with Flavor Flav over his political views,” the statement said. “Flavor Flav has been on suspension since 2016 when he was MIA from the Harry Belafonte benefit in Atlanta, Georgia. That was the last straw for the group. He had previously missed numerous live gigs from Glastonbury to Canada, album recording sessions and photo shoots. He always chose to party over work.
“Public Enemy Radio toured Europe and co-headlined with the Wu-Tang Clan in May 2019 without Flavor. They have also done numerous benefit shows without Flavor. While Public Enemy Radio was moving forward, Flavor Flav was starring on the reality show ‘Growing Up Hip Hop New York,' when an episode featured his children discussing an intervention and putting him into rehab. It’s time to move on and everyone wishes Flavor well.”
Flavor Flav has since gotten sober and celebrated his fourth year of sobriety at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction in Cleveland last month. Needless to say, Chuck D and Flav are on good terms and ready to hit the road.
