“Endtroducing” 20th Anniversary Edition Package, Endtrospective

It’s been one heck of a year for experimental Hip-hop producer DJ Shadow. His latest studio record, The Mountain Will Fall released after a painfully-long recluse, gathering several critical praise, such as being classified “impressive in its inventiveness” and upheld as his “best work since his early-aughts hey-day”.

But the year looms far from being over, and DJ Shadow insists he’s not finished yet. Just this week, the producer addresses a remixed collection of his ground-breaking debut album, Endtroducing, which features collaborative appearances from artists such as Clams Casino and Hudson Mohawke.

According to Shadow, the album will be included in a 20th anniversary edition package. The deluxe package, Endtrospective, covers the original album, as well as a collection of demos, alternate cuts, live song renditions, as well as Endtroducing Re-imagined.

DJ Shadow also announced twelve special-feature remixes from numerous iconic artists in the electronic scene, such as Prince Paul, Salva, Bondax, Teklife, and Karma Kid. The full package is scheduled for release on October 28 via Island.

His original debut album Endtroducing was initially released back in November 19, 1996 under Mo’ Wax Recordings. Astonishingly, DJ Shadow confessed the album as “a product of two years of working with very minimal equipment”.

Despite its obstacles, the album gathered widespread acclaim as soon as its release, notably gaining recognition from Alternative Press as “an undeniable Hip-hop masterpiece” as well as “not only one of the most daring and original albums of recent times, but also one of the loveliest” from The Guardian.

DJ Shadow’s most prominent artistic-feat, Endtroducing, has recently celebrated induction into several professional charts of all-time greatest albums—various publications involving Rolling StoneSpin,Pitchfork, and Slant Magazine.

Endtrospective guarantees a look back at one of the scene’s most significant chapters of recent times, topped off with bonuses that one simply can’t let slip.
