Death Row Records, Snoop Dogg and TikTok's SoundOn platform have teamed up to bring the label's iconic catalog to West Coast gangsta rap fans around the world. Beginning February 14, singles such as Snoop's "Gin & Juice," 2Pac's "2 Of Amerika's Most Wanted" and The Lady of Rage's "Afro Puffs" will be available exclusively on TikTok for one work ahead of the DSP release.
“Since I took death row off streaming almost a year ago, not a day goes by without people asking me to put it back up," Snoop Dogg said in a statement. "As the Super Bowl rolled around, I knew fans would be looking for the music from our iconic performance in 2022, so I wanted to reintroduce the most historic catalog to the people. I reached out to the folks at TikTok to make more history...enjoy ya'll."
Founded in 1991 in Los Angeles, California, Death Row evolved into one of hip-hop's most important and influential labels, defining West Coast rap with albums such as Dr. Dre's The Chronic, Snoop Dogg's Doggystyle, and 2Pac's All Eyez On Me. In 2021, Snoop Dogg and Larry Jackson acquired the Death Row catalog and temporarily removed it from DSPs as they worked out the details. But all that ends this month. A special playlist co-curated by Death Row is available now. Find it here.
