Daddy Grace's New Single Featuring Sadat X, "Black Cream"

Daddy Grace (aka Born Allah) is on a mission to regain the “grown-man bars” he sees fading as Hip-hop moves further away from its Golden Age. Rallying along his crusade is fellow veteran rapper, Sadat X, in their latest collaborative project “Black Cream”.

The duo provides an adequate remix of the track listed on Grace's No Hip Hop For Grown Men—adequate in the sense that it isn't the average adjustments here and there, but a complete revamp, which includes fresh & funky instrumentals catered by BLDNGBLK. Also, Grace is gracious enough to include fresh lines as well as polished razor-edge openers ala Sadat X's to kick it off.

Sadat's iconic Brand Nubian style blends perfectly atop the track's upbeat, foot-stomping tempo. The rapper sends hard-hitting hooks flying through the air, simply venting his heart out, careless of the estranged listener—rap for grown men indeed.

The rapper's verses and the song itself befit Grace's album statement, “The whole purpose of the album was born out of frustration,” and he capitalizes when he locks into rap-mode, “Back when Too $hort was missing his front tooth, I was bangin' on rappers/ Catchin' bodies in the booth.”

Sadat X and Daddy Grace's latest single “Black Cream” is featured off the latter artist's LP No Hip Hop For Grown Up, which I sincerely recommend to all the veteran Hip-hop listeners out there.

And for those trying on a pubescent repertoire, I suggest you consult Grace's description, “There are adult fans and adult artists, and that's the whole concept of the album. We're talking grown-man bars, grown-folks' Hip-hop... for people who grew up in the Golden Era.”
